Discount impact calculator
See what a discount does to the profit on one order, and how many extra orders you would need to make it back. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored anywhere.
The numbers below are an example. Replace them with your own. Fee rates are not pre-filled because yours depend on your plan, country and provider.
How it works
- Profit per order = what the customer pays (discounted price + shipping charged) − product cost − label cost − other cost − payment fee.
- Gross margin follows Shopify’s definition: (net sales − cost) ÷ net sales, where net sales is the price after discount.
- Extra orders needed = profit at full price ÷ profit at the discounted price − 1. It assumes the same costs per order and ignores returns, repeat purchases and any customers you would not have won without the discount.
- Break-even discount is the largest discount at which one order earns exactly $0.
